The Texas Coastal Bend, or Coastal Bend, stretches hundreds of miles along the Texas coastline. TexasCoastalBend.com mainly serves to promote the South Barrier Coast region that stretches from Corpus Christi up to Port Lavaca. 

Explore popular attractions, savor fresh caught fish, have a cold drink, or shop souvenirs and gifts. Use our site to book a beachside hotel or condo, plan a fishing excursion, scope out restaurants and bars, and plan all your sightseeing or relaxing beachside activities.

There are many fun activities to do for the whole family including bird watching, deep-sea fishing, relaxing on sandy beaches, checking out unique shops and local artisans, visiting the historical sites, museums, and nature preserves and dining at all the delicious, local restaurants.

Here are the Coastal Bend communities we currently feature: 

Rockport-Fulton

The coastal towns of adjacent Rockport and Fulton are an idyllic South Texas coastal fishing community that offer blue wave coasts, boating, fishing, waterskiing, swimming, and birdwatching. The area is home to the Rockport Aquarium, Texas Maritime Museum, art galleries, restaurants and shops. Accommodations include, b&bs, hotels, and campgrounds.

Port Aransas

Port Aransas, located on Mustang Island, is a beach and resort village that offers saltwater fishing, eco-tourism, and the annual Sand Fest held in April. The area is home to 18 miles of beaches, Port Aransas Museum, Farley Boat Works and five nature preserves for hiking, biking, and observation. Accommodations include hotels/motels, condos, vacation home rentals and campgrounds.

Corpus Christi

The “Sparkling City by the Sea”, Corpus Christi is a booming coastal metropolis full of history, attractions, private and public beaches, recreation, and shopping. The area is home to the USS Lexington, the Art Museum of South Texas, the Texas State Aquarium, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, and the Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge. The Port of Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi International Airport serve the area. Accommodations include a large variety of hotels, motels, condos, vacation home rentals, and campgrounds. 

Aransas Pass

Aransas Pass, known as the “Saltwater Heaven” is located on the mainland across the bay from Port Aransas in the heart of the Coastal Bend. The community offers a public harbor, marina and many parks for recreational activities, shrimping and saltwater sport fishing. Accommodations include a large variety of hotels, motels, condos, vacation home rentals, and campgrounds. 

Ingleside

Full of coastal history, Ingleside offers a family-friendly and quiet community with all the amenities of a larger city. The area is adjacent to Aransas Pass and across the bay from Port Aransas and offers a variety of outdoor recreation and eco-tourism including Whitney Lake for birdwatching. Accommodations include a large variety of hotels, motels, condos, vacation home rentals, and campgrounds.

Port Lavaca

Port Lavaca, the “Paradise on the Bay”, is nestled along Lavaca Bay in the Coastal Bend. The area is home to the Halfmoon Reef Lighthouse, Nautical Landings Marina, a historical Main Street, public beaches and a variety of outdoor recreation. Fishing, hunting, shrimping, and boating are mainstay activities. Accommodations include a large variety of hotels, motels, condos, vacation home rentals, and campgrounds.

Portland

Originally called the “Gem City of the Gulf”, Portland is located across both Nueces Bay and Corpus Christi Bay from Corpus Christi. The area offers many attractions for outdoor sportsmen since it is located on two bays including Indian Point and Sunset Lake piers. Indian Point Wetlands offers excellent bird watching. Accommodations include a large variety of hotels, motels, condos, vacation home rentals, and campgrounds.
